Shared Services
Cluster A has been innovative in cost savings measures. By the seven school districts banding together, the educational benefits of the seven small schools are retained while decreasing business costs.
An example of a cost savings measure is the sharing of a Cluster A Special Education Director. The special education director serves the Altoona, Augusta, Fall Creek, Gilmanton, Mondovi, and Osseo-Fairchild school districts.
Another example of cost savings is the Augusta School District, Fall Creek School District and the Osseo-Fairchild School District sharing an e-mail filtering device.
Four of the school districts are standardized on Administrative Software, so they can easily collaborate and cross-train.
NovaNet is shared between the Altoona School District and the Fall Creek School District. NovaNet is a comprehensive, online courseware system that meets the needs of struggling students who need to recover lost credits, increase graduation rates and reduce dropout rates, challenge advanced students who want to move ahead, prepare students for state and standardized testing, and provide individualized learning at a distance.
Wrestling is cooperatively sponsored amongst the seven school districts. Each school agrees to pay for the basic costs of sharing the program.
